Our Method

Our needle piercing process includes these steps:
The piercing is done with a sterile single-use hollow high-grade stainless steel needle. Our pre-packaged sterilized hypoallergenic jewellery, is then inserted into the catheter (which keeps the piercing open) and is fed through the space created by the needle. This method is quick and virtually painless with a generally shorter healing time. A new sterile needle is used every time, with no risk of contamination from poorly cleaned equipment. A numbing cream can be applied to the ear lobes prior to the piercing to minimizes immediate pain.
Some discomfort and soreness is normal in the days following the piercing, however material pain is unusual. Our doctor is available by phone to address any concerns.
Blomdahl jewellery are designed to facilitate rapid healing, and so that you can easily change to regular jewellery after the healing period. Our jewellery is made from skin-safe medical grade titanium or medical plastic for people with sensitive skin and allergies—perfect for all ages.
When air can circulate around a new piercing, it will heal better. That is why the earring backs on Blomdahl piercing earrings are always fixed at the tip of the post, where they also encapsulate the tip.
The earring backs cannot be moved like on regular earrings. That way the air can always circulate around the new piercing.
In order for the new piercing to be kept airy and to heal better, it is important that the piercing earring has the right length.
But earlobes differ in thickness. For slightly thicker earlobes Blomdahl has developed piercing earrings with extra long posts.
After the healing period, you can remove the piercing earrings and change to other earrings. However, the skin that has grown within the holes is still delicate and the holes may shrink a little.
Blomdahl’s piercing earrings have been designed so that the holes will be slightly wider in the beginning and thereby not get so easily damaged when you change earrings.
You will receive thorough written aftercare instructions and continuous access to our aftercare video following the medical piercing procedure.
To ensure that you are aware of what to expect and what to do to prevent an infection for yourself or your child, your doctor or nurse will go over the essential daily cleaning procedure with you.
According to the aftercare recommendations, you should clean the new piercing twice a day with soap and water or the convenient and easy-to-use Blomdahl Piercing Aftercare cleansing swabs.
You will receive your doctor’s contact information so as to reach them right away if you have any concerns or questions while you’re recovering. Complications like infection are rare with our procedure when the aftercare instructions are followed. You will also feel secure knowing that our specialists are there to assist you if necessary.
